SERVE WITH US
Let no one despise you for your youth,
but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct in love, in faith, in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12
Our young people are our future leaders — in the church, their homes and the marketplace. We believe that God has great things in store for their lives. We also believe He wants to make them His agents of transformation where they are now. To that end, we aim to disciple young people from ages 13 to 19 to anchor their identity in Christ, grow in their love for God and His ways, and influence others as they pursue Him — in vibrant gatherings where they feel they belong, can be real and have fun!
Friendship is hugely important in adolescence. Teens thrive in environments where they feel they belong and are understood. Hence, we want to foster safe community where they can grow in meaningful relationships with their peers as well as adults. Studies have shown that if a teenager has healthy relationships with 5 adults, they will do well in the turbulent transition to adulthood!
Our youth LCGs are shepherded by committed Youth Leaders who are carefully selected from among the young adults. Besides these big brothers and sisters, we also welcome the involvement of other adults!
Build into the life of our youths by befriending them, individually or in a group. This can be through a shared interest in sports, music or other hobbies. Such friendships have great potential for spiritual impact as trust grows between adult and youth.
MENTORS TO YOUTH LEADERS
Strengthen the youth ministry by mentoring a youth leader who may be going through his/her own life transition, e.g. entering uni, the workforce or a relationship. Mentoring won’t just build up our youth leaders personally but also impact their ministry to the youths.
Calling all youths who have a desire to serve God in the area of worship as a musician, vocalist, projectionist or sound tech! Join us to serve the youth ministry and the wider Church body by using your talents and skills for God. Do note that auditions are required.
