COMMIT TO THE BODY OF CHRIST
membership at WEFC
Following Christ is a personal decision we make, but it is not an independent journey on which we figure things out on our own. We are meant to live out our faith in community, alongside others who are committed to loving and obeying Christ. It is in community that discipleship comes to life, where we serve the body and help one another grow in Christ.
Membership in a local church is thus an expression of our commitment to follow Jesus and to build up His body, the church. It is not just mentally assenting to a set of shared beliefs, but a wholehearted covenanting with God and others to fulfil the mission of the church. It is for every disciple of Jesus Christ.
跟随主耶稣固然是个人决定，但这绝不是一个人的旅程，你无须独自摸索着。主的旨意是让我们在社群里活出我们的信仰，和其他致力于基督的信徒一同爱和顺服耶稣。唯有在社群里，我们才能真正体现出基督门徒的样式，通过侍奉和帮助他人一同成长，我们才能在主里成长。

what must i do to be a member?
If you’ve been regularly attending our worship services and a Life Change Group, consider becoming a WEFC member. To do so, you must:
- Already be baptised, either in WEFC or another church
- Attend and complete our Preparing for Membership class
The class will help you understand what membership in WEFC entails, what we believe, and what we value as a church. You will learn about your commitments as a member, and about the Evangelical Free Church denomination.
As part of the process, one of our pastoral staff will meet you to find out how you came to faith, how we can help you grow, and how you can serve God’s purposes in WEFC. You will then be introduced to the church at the next members’ meeting.

成为会友的过程中，教会的其中一位牧者将于你联系，以了解你是如何认识并相信主。他也会和你探讨，在你的门徒之旅教会能给予你什么帮助，你将如何在兀兰播道会侍奉以达成神的旨意。之后，在来临的会友大会，教会将公布你成为会友的消息并把你介绍给其他会友。

when is the next membership class?
